Cynthia Adkins co-founded Adkins Black in 2003, and is currently a partner at the firm. With more than 20 years of domestic and global experience, she focuses primarily on research and development, clinical trial, manufacturing, licensing, SaaS, and collaboration agreements for her technology and life sciences clients, negotiating on their behalf with sites and companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Asia and South America. Her extensive travels on behalf of her clients have enabled her to build a strong network of attorneys around the world to assist her with local legal issues.
Before starting Adkins Black (originally known as Adkins & Plant) in 2003, Cindy served as senior counsel for Immunex Corporation, senior counsel for Home Grocer.com and counsel to the treasury and software licensing groups at Boeing. She began her legal career as an associate at Foster Pepper.
Cindy serves on the board of CRAB (Cancer Research And Biostatistics), a non-profit endeavor dedicated to helping cure cancer and other diseases through the application of biostatistical principles and innovative data-management methods. Cindy is also a founder of the Seattle chapter of Ellevate Network (formerly 85 Broads), a global professional women's network.
Although she is usually professional and well behaved, Cindy once participated in a citywide tomato fight in Buñol, Spain. No charges were filed. And, since she received her Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University and her J.D. from the University of Washington, she pretends not to care who wins the Apple Cup.
